Sugarcane refers to several species of tall perennial grass that people use to process sugar. The plants have stout jointed stalks about 3-6 meters tall with fibrous residue rich in sucrose.
Sugarcane grows in tropical and subtropical areas with a continuous supply of water. The plant can grow on various soils ranging from highly fertile, well-drained, and infertile lands. The stems grown in cane stalk take about 12 -14 months to mature and are ready for harvesting.
So, can you eat sugarcane? Yes, you can eat sugarcane as they are edible and sweet. To eat sugarcane, you first remove the outer layer and then chew to extract the juice, rich in fiber and other nutrients.
How Can You Eat Sugarcane?
You might notice the availability and affordability of sugarcane at your nearby market place or even a sugarcane vendor around you. You can’t go wrong with chewing the stalks and squeezing the juice as it will boost your energy. The juice will also help prevent dryness and fatigue by building up your body with plasma and body fluid.

The chewing bites are harvested, peeled and cut to order. We harvest and package them fresh, prepare them and ship them in ziplock bags to keep the juice sealed. When you receive the chewing sticks we recommend refrigerating them overnight before eating them. You may even notice some sugar crystallizing. If desired you can rinse the sticks/bites, but it is not necessary. The pieces are bite size pieces. This is a raw product so due to the season those sizes may vary. They will hold, refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
